Kempty Falls Trek (कैम्पटी फाल्स ट्रेक)
Kempty Falls is a waterfall which is situated in the Ram Gaon, in the Tehri Garhwal district of the Mussoorie city of Uttarakhand. The area is surrounded all around by the high mountains and the falls lie basically in between the mountain area. The Kempty Falls are located at about 13 km from the Dehradun. The main attraction of the city of Uttarakhand is Kempty Falls Trek because of the uniqueness in the design and built of the spot. The tourists are attracted to this place very much and there is a footfall of almost 10 lakh people.
The Kempty Falls are located at the 78° 02’ from the east longitude and 30° 29’ from the North latitude. The Kempty is at a height of 1364 meters from the sea level and is surrounded by mountains which are above the height of 4500 feet.
The Kempty falls were designed by British officer John Mekinan around the year 1835. It was so beautifully made that it became the one of the world’s top tourist destination where one can relax and just roam around the beauty of the nature. The word Kempty was derived from the word ‘Camp-Tea’. The water which falls through so much height comes from the Village Banglow ki kandi which thereafter falls from a height of 4500 ft. The stream of water after flowing downwards also gets split further into five small streams which fall to a height of 40 ft.
The Kempty Falls Trek are open all days of a year but the best season to visit it is in the month of September to March. The Kempty Falls Trek are open from the morning till the sun sets. And the best time to visit it is in the morning or in the evening. It takes almost 2 hours to fully visit the Kempty Falls.
